The Gouffre of Padirac is the first natural underground heritage site in France. This natural cavity, 33 m broad and 75 m deep, opens the doors to an incredible journey to the centre of the earth.
You will descend by lift or on foot to the heart of the cave, up to 103 m underground, then wander through the galleries and navigate the underground river to discover a multitude of geological wonders shaped by nature over millions of years. More than 26 million visitors have marvelled at it since it was discovered by Édouard-Alfred Martel in 1889.
