Don’t miss coming to admire this lovely house in Vic sur Cère. It is tucked away in the heart of the historic centre of the town and represents the close ties between the Carladès area and the Prinicipality of Monaco.
Built in the 16th century, this house belonged to the line of Monaco princes as far back as 1643 following the signature of the Treaty of Peronne between King Louis XIII of France and Honoré II, Prince of Monaco. After this the Carladès area passed under the suzerainity of Monaco up until the Revolution. In its original state the main part of the house was rectangular and there is a beautiful tower with a spiral staircase. Building to the house carried out in the 17th century extended it to rue du Bailliage. The main door, the tympanum and the window lintel all bear different sculptures, one representing the Annunciation of the Virgin Mary.
